Welcome, Sharon! I can't add anything to what others have said so well. It takes time and patience to eliminate all those foods that cause us problems, and it's easy to get discouraged. But this forum is a great place to learn what has worked for other people. I would never have stuck with getting rid of all that hidden gluten (and then dairy and soy) if it hadn't been for the wonderful people here.
Again, WELCOME!
Again, WELCOME!

I also wanted to say that many of us have multiple autoimmune diseases, and the gluten-free diet (and eliminating any other food intolerances) may go a long way towards making them easier to live with, perhaps even eliminating symptoms or stabilizing them in some respects. Each person is different, but I myself am looking forward to the possibility.
Welcome again!

Hello and welcome,
I'm glad you have found this site, it is so helpful, knowing your not alone somehow makes the daily battle all the more easier!
Speaking of encort, I read somewhere online that it has a 73% success rate with MC patients... I'll try to find this information again.

I should go post this info elsewhere maybe....Two recent, controlled trials showed that budesonide (Entocort, a poorly absorbed steroid) is effective in controlling diarrhea in more than 75% of the patients with collagenous colitis, but the diarrhea tends to recur soon after stopping Entocort.

I really can't add much to what has already been said but I can very positively state that the family here is probably the best support you could ever receive with this disease. Our experience, knowledge, comraderie, happiness & sadness have bound us into the most supportive resource anywhere on the planet and in cyber space for these diseases of the gut.
The healing process for the most part can be a confounding and tricky process. In my experience and it has been a long one with CC - 10+ years - it took me forever to get myself to where I am now. It can be disheartening at times but that is why we are here to help in any way.
Stick around and yes - Tex can be a very funny man. However, wouldn't trade that for the world.
Love, Maggie

I have had stool studies, blood tests, and upper endoscopy with biopsies. They said I was negative for celiac but I am not sure the test they did to decide that. I had to have 2 colonoscopies because they did not do biopsies at the first one. I also did the capsule colonoscopy because neither colonoscopy or endoscopy were they able to see any part of the small intestine. Still have not seen it because the capsule traveled down the wall and did not take any images that were able to be seen. I must have shy small intestine.
thanks for the warm welcome!
