I am trying for the fourth time to get off of sertraline (Zoloft). I have been on it for 10 years. I know it helped cause my MC and is making it worse, but I have to take it for PTSD and other reasons. I have tried 3 other drugs and the results have been disastrous (hospital once)! I am really and truly scared, but hopeful at the same time.

Please keep me in your thoughts.

Good luck, Mags.

I will send DD#1 your post even though I said no more. Now that she has seen her EnteroLab report, maybe she will listen. I think if she'd drop the gluten, she'd feel better. It won't help her severe corporate job stress, though. They expect her to work 24/7!

Mags, Hugs to you.:bigbighug:

I'm currently on Mirtazapine which shouldn't interfere with my MC, maybe you could try that if you haven't already?

Also, I have been advised to avoid SSRI's, so I wonder if this would be the same for you?

Love and more hugs :bigbighug:

Hi Mags,

I don't think I've properly welcomed you, so :welcome: I'm happy to have you in the "family".

Thinking of you and sending a great big hug :bigbighug:

Mags,

I will be praying for you. I don't have PTSD but have struggled with depression most of my life. I am on Cymbalta now for it and it has really helped me. Not sure if you have tried it or if it would help, but I am thinking of you.

Here's a hug and a wish/hope/prayer that things go well and you can get off of Zoloft. :bigbighug:

Ohhhh hon, I know exactly how hard it is to come off those meds, I've done it a few times. One time my doctor actually put me on prozac while I was weaning off the paxil, and this made it sooo much easier. Something to do with the half life of prozac, but anyway, once you are off the zoloft with the help of the prozac, then you start tapering off the prozac and it's not bad at all because of the half life. You might want to suggest that route to your doctor.
Otherwise, maybe try tapering a bit more slowly, just take it one day at a time.

Thanks, Dream--

I'm actually trying prozac for the first time, as I must stay on SSRI's. At least for me, the beneficial effects far outway any MC symptoms they may cause. Without them, due to PTSD, anxiety disorder, etc., I am a complete wreck.

Love,

Mags
