Don't be discouraged after reading them; I'm one of the toughest cases here. Many others have found remission more quickly after eliminating fewer foods, sometimes only three or less.
I have had two tests: Enterolab's stool test and LEAP program's MRT test. I've also had to learn using much trial and error. My food/BMs diary has been critical in figuring it out.

You never know what you can do until you have to do it.
Have a great trip! Are you flying or driving? Do you take your own food or buy/prepare it once you get to your daughter's?
I've been wanting to catch up with you to let you know that I finally bit the bullet and did the MRT, too. I should get my results this week. With regard to the foods you have listed under your avatar, are those your most reactive foods as determined by the test? How many foods were in your most reactive category? the least? Did you do the 120 or 150 test? How accurate have you found the test to be given what you determined through your own elimination testing? (I know that lectins aren't tested by the MRT).
Even though I am back in remission after my recent flare, I decided to go ahead with the test. I was the original member here to discover I had multiple intolerances, and I believe you and I may be among the most food-sensitive here (dubious honor, for sure!). I figure the more info I have, the better I will be able to rotate foods and fine-tune my diet. I'm pretty sure I know most of my major intolerances, but it will be helpful to know about herbs/spices, dyes, preservatives, etc.
Have a safe trip and a wonderful visit!
Love,
Polly
Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused.
It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Have a wonderful trip and visit with DD#2. Utah is such a beautiful state - I visited a year and a half ago - did all 4 corner states.

If you're anything like me, I think you'll be very pleased with getting your MRT results. Can't begin to tell you what a difference it is making in my life - it has taken away all the guess work. I'm now maintaining my weight, while eating well, and experiencing normans regularly. I will post the details of my diet and progress soon.
Love,
Kari

I know you are prepared with foods for travelling and your stay. You and I are very much alike when we travel for foods and what we need while we are there and sources for what we don't take with us.
Enjoy your trip.
