She has two German shepherds which live in the house. I'm beginning to wonder if there's a relationship between my getting pneumonia and visiting her with her indoor dogs in the winter. Spring and summer visits don't seem to be a problem.
Another reason I'm wondering is because I got asthma and subsequently my first pneumonia the year I brought my mother's cat to my house when my mother went to a nursing home. My brother, who has asthma, noticed the relationship. We had a beagle at the time, but the beagle never seemed to bother me. (She bothered the cat a great deal, though.
This is the fourth time I've had pneumonia. I had the pneumonia vaccine after I got double pneumonia five years ago, but the doctor I saw yesterday said it was only protective against the most virulent strain of pneumonia.
Should I avoid staying at DD's house in the winter from now on?
Oh, and the antibiotic I'm taking is Doxycycline Hyclate 100 mg. I had explosive D today before I began taking it. I think it was due to Tylenol, since that's the only change I made in my diet and medications the last couple of days. We'll see if I react to this antibiotic.
