Thanks for the translation Gabes.

Now if you can only figure out how to drive on the correct side of the road...

Hi Polly,

Yes, it sounds quite similar to the US event.

And somebody still hasn't understood the correct colour for pots. He can have the plants of his choice, but the pots really need to be the right colour. Which is Black, not Blue. At least we agree on size and general style. So I guess that is something.

Oh, and Pav (Pavlova) can be just fine with no cream if you use the right sort of fruits. Poached cherries are wonderful without cream, but not traditional. Pav is also great for us non dairy people when it is broken up and mixed in with with fruit - strawberries and passionfruit, or a finely chopped fruit salad.

My aunty (country lady who won awards at regional shows for her cooking) taught me how to make pavlova when i was 9.
I know her recipe, the tricks to mixing and the tricks to cooking the perfect pav from memory (even after MC foggy brain)

Lyn- he should be thankful that you are allowing him to choose plants!

I think vegemite must be an acquired taste. I had a chance to try it while in Fiji, but didn't take more than one bite. My husband didn't like it either.

I have a few friends in Sydney and Brisbane and its always fun to bring this topic up... Over the years I have traveled quite a bit internationally and have gotten pretty good at driving either LH or RH, but I will say in Brisbane last summer, I was challenged with shifting a manual gearbox with my left hand... that was tough. I realized later that was the first time in a RH drive country that I drove a manual transmission. There is still the issue of the toilets flushing backwards though, that Coriolis effect is pretty cool in the southern hemisphere.

Overall a great trip and visit, I have come to really like Australia.
