A slightly stupid question....
As some of you are aware my MC was caused by my use of NSAIDS and SSRI's, I'm now on a new type of Antidepressent which is a tetracyclic antidepressant and have been since Jan 4th...
Anyway, my question is, if this new anti depressent was going to cause a flare in my colitis, how long do you think it would be before the symptoms showed themselves?

That's a tough question, because it can probably range from a day or two to as long as many months, depending on the type of med, and one's individual sensitivity to the med in question. I would think that in most cases, though, if a problem were going to develop, it should show up within, say 1 to 6 weeks.

hmm... well then I suspect I may have to go back to the anti-depressent drawing board because I have been noticing some MC symptoms appearing and the only thing that has changed in the past few weeks is that

Katy, you are also within the 4-6 month time frame that Tex told me about for another food intolerance (if there is one) to rear its nasty head after going gluten-free. He said that oftentimes it is something you eat every day, that you would never suspect.
Something to think about, maybe?

Tex, I hate this disease for the fact no one ever knows what drugs I can/can't have, I've had this for over 6 months now so still relativley new to it and am finding it highly annoying to have to teach GPs about oit.
Marliss, because my MC was drug induced I've never removed any food intolerances as i went into remission as soon as I stopped taking the meds that they thought caused it, so maybe it could be a food related. I'll have to start up the food diary again I think.
