Rice Chex
Wow! I've been eating these and seeing myself going backwards. All the cereals in the gluten-free isle of the store have NO added vitamins at all, which is why I was eating the Rice Chex. I've got Corn Chex inside and have been eating those now that the Rice Chex are gone. Have people been having problems on those too? I had to use one Immodium yesterday. I tend to start to panic if I have to use anything. I wonder if the problems GM has had have something to do with the vitamins they add? Just a thought.

I eat lots of chicken. I hope it doesn't become a problem. :(

As for the sourdough bread, I'm not dancing with the devil, especially since I can tell that the inflammation is not gone.

Hi Kari,

Thanks for your reply. Silk Coconut milk does have Guar. I don't see this on the MC ingredient list, but I will bet you are right...

Thanks

They didn't make me sick, (didn't cause D, but the Rice Chex didn't cause me to have D, either), but they always seemed to cause bloating and some digestive system "distress", or "uneasiness", for at least a few hours after I ate them. I haven't tried any of them for probably 8 or 10 months, so I picked up a new box of them a couple of weeks age, when I bought the Rice Chex, but I haven't tried the Corn Chex, yet.

FWIW, the Silk Almond Milk does not contain guar gum, but it does contain locust bean gum and gellan gum. locust bean gum, (also known as carob bean gum), is made from the seeds of the carob tree, and gellan gum is a polysaccharide gum that's produced by a fermentation process of a carbohydrate.

So, almond milk is NOT a good alternative? I've been buying Almond Breeze. Geez, I need to get this stuff straight!

No, I use almond milk, because most of the other substitute milks that I've tried bother me, including hemp milk. The Silk Almond Milk, (at least the original version), works fine for me. It's what I used on the last box of Rice Chex, and I had no problems at all.

I've never tried the Almond Breeze, because it contains soy lecithin, I believe. The Silk Almond Milk contains no soy ingredients.

I was about to be annoyed because I thought I had bought Almond Breeze yesterday, but I had actually bought Pacific, which says right on the front, "A delicious alternate to soy!" It has carrageenan, which I know some people don't tolerate well.

Love, love, love the gluten free chex cereals. I live on them (eaten with lactaid) and chicken with rice. Norman came for a visit this morning again. Doc took me off the Apriso last week, so I'm just taking the 9 mg of Entocort. I can't wait to start weaning off of it too. I know I'm getting ahead of myself and the "three steps backwards" is coming, but I'm planning on enjoying myself until then!
