To all you Aussies and your brave country
I just saw a segment on our NBC news spotlighting all the natural disasters your country has faced the last few months. Overwhelming! They showed your Prime Minister speaking to your parliament with an Australian flag that rescue workers had found floating in the water and had presented to her. It was quite battered and dirty, but she stated that it represented the spirit of your country and your brave spirits in coping and helping each other through it all. I can't recall word for word how she described it, but it was so moving and touching and she was weeping as she talked and shared examples of individuals representing all of you. As I listened to her I couldn't help but connect those attributes to all the brave people here who face the "tsunami" of mc on our lives. Without this board I wouldn't know anyone from your country, but I'm so proud to know you and have felt your fighting spirits contribute so much here. Thank you! JoAnn

Well put JoAnn I definitely agree.
I am hoping to visit Grantham when I go there in April. There is a great and well administered fund that I have been donating to that is benefiting this devastated town just west of Brisbane.

Thanks folk,
The USA has it's own problems of course - at least we rarely see tornadoes!! Or snow storms that damage stadium roofs! It is actually quite hard to relate to the problems the snow causes for so many of you. To me it is a novelty - one goes to the snow for holidays etc. Hope you are all surviving that OK.
It has been good to see all the volunteers turnout. It always happens, and I am sure it happens around the world - people dig in to help their neighbours. So glad the cyclone only killed one person - personally I think this was a lot to do with the preparation, and a lot to a last minute/second changes to it's intensity and direction. We can be lucky.
