6 month update....

Post by natythingycolbery »

Hey All,

I notice I've become less active over the past month or so, been trying to sort out my life and all that jazz.

But anyway, I thought I would just pop on to let you all know that I am ok, although a little stressed and recovering from a cold.

I have decided to cut down, but not completley cut out gluten and bread from my diet (I always struggle to go completley cold turkey) and i'm generally feeling better than before, so I'm presuming gluten may be slowly developing into an issue for me.

Apart from that, My MC is behaving and doing what it is told.

Much love.

Katy. x

Yay for you. I know what you mean about the bread. My symptoms don't seem to get worse with bread, but Lord help me if I eat ANYTHING fresh, although I did eat a little broccoli salad I bought for my daughter yesterday. My MC is OK, but then I am on 9 mg of Entocort. :-(

Naty-Katy, so glad to hear your MC is behaving itself. Hopefully the other "D" is improving too with your new medication. Given all the neurological effects (especially the brain fog) that many people seem to get from gluten, not just the gastro ones, I think it is wise of you to cut down your intake of it, even if you don't get D. from it. I am sure it is not doing your body any good. And if you can be spared from developing full-blown, long term MC by doing that, what a blessing that would be, my dear.

Thanks for popping in and letting us know how you are doing. I wish you well in this homestretch of your school year.

Hugs, :bigbighug:

Hi Naty,

So nice to hear that you are managing well again. I agree with what Linda said about gluten - regardless of symptoms, it can only help to stay away from it. I was wondering how UK compares to the US when it comes to gluten free items? It seems quite easy here to eat gluten free, and the products you can get are sometimes superior to products with gluten in them. Pamela's products come to mind - I have never tasted better pancakes than Pamela's.

Good luck to you - and do pop in here from time to time and let us know how you're doing. To me you're like a breath of fresh air with your honest, straight forward manner. I suspect that many others here in the PP family are also interested in hearing about your continuing journey.

Love and hugs,
Kari

Hi Katy, I'm glad your finding your way through the MC maze and am glad that your doing well overall. I am still surprised how much gluten had been affecting me and did not realize it until cutting out 100% for a few months

Take care Katy

Katy,

It sounds like you've settled into a routine and things are going well for you. You can't ask for much more than that! I hope the rest of the school year also goes well. Stop in when you get a chance.

Hey all, Thanks for your lovely words.

In terms of Gluten Free items in the UK, I'm not 100% sure what it is like over here, I shall make it my mission to find out and inform everyone on PP.

I will still be floating around on here, just might not say anything. I often do log on to read and see how you are all doing.

Thanks for all the support over the past few months, it really has meant a lot to me

Katy
when i was in London in 2009 there was reasonable amount of GF stuff in the supermarkets.

if you cant find it close by in a shop, go online and get it delivered. the delivery fee is reasonable (cheaper than a cab to get your shopping home!)

take care lovely

Gabes- I'm not suprised London is good for GF stuff. I have no idea if Lincoln or York are though, I would hope they are really!
