I just discovered this addition. Aren't you clever, Tex. It's probably been there for months but I just never really noticed it before or took the time to look at it.

Interesting.

Shirley,

Where is it? Obviously, I've missed it too!

Hi Shirley and Polly,

It's only been there for a couple of weeks or so. I thought it might be interesting to see where in the world everyone is located.

Polly, to see it, just scroll down to the bottom of any page, and look on the right side. If you click on it, you will see an enlarged map, with much more detail.

Love,
Tex

Wow, those are pretty interesting statistics! China, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, among many. We are truly international!

Great addition to the board, Tex!

Are the visits of the members of this group also shown on this map, or is it only visits from non members or both?

There is a largish dot in australia that is in what seems to be the simpson desert (where hardly anyone lives) i wonder if the IP address doesnt have the right data with it to pinpoint a location, if the map system collates those visits into one dot in the middle???

IP's are usually slightly out on maps.

I'm off to see if it acknowledges me from the right part of the UK.

That's me in Fergus Falls, near Fargo ND. Big Dot.

In the last few weeks this has exploded with dot's all over the world.

Very Cool. Thanks Tex.

The England one seems to be hovering over London, I'm about 200 miles north of that!

IP addresses are assigned in blocks, to countries. While it's possible to trace IP addresses individually, as the "hits" add up, the algorithm used by the Cluster Map site probably just lumps then into a generic location, after they exceed a certain count. I'm just guessing, though, since I have no way of knowing how they actually report the "hits" at the various quantity levels.
