Is Rice good or bad

over the past 14 months, via many discussons on this site i feel very blessed and thank the universe frequently that if someone has to have MC, australia is a pretty good place to be.

the range of products and food items especially the GF/DF/SF/YF/EF range is fantastic, if products are not at my local supermarkets or the health food stores, i can purchase it online and have it delivered within 3 days.

additionally, as the products are widely available this keeps the prices of the products reasonable. ie health food stores try to match supermarket pricings.

Do you mean to tell me that this whole time I've been eating regular every-day white rice and that's not what y'all (yes I said y'all) are talking about!!!!! I thought "gooey" just meant the consistency that you make it. I've been eating "enriched long grain rice" made in my rice cooker. Is that not right? If not, where do I find this other rice and I need some name brands please!

I don't think the other rice is necessary. I eat plain old long grain rice and I don't have any problems with it. You can add more water to it and it will become softer too. The other rice may be more beneficial, but I don't think the long grain rice is bad.

I eat a lot of rice, especially when I am at home on the weekends and have time to cook it. I think it is OK for me. But a week long experiment may be in order to be sure.

I also see it as a form of comfort food.

Kohuku is a good brand. Most regular supermarkets have it in their Asian sections. If you have an Asian market near you, just go to the rice section and ask someone, as they have so many different varieties. Stay away from Basmati, as true Basmati will always keep each grain intact. Jasmine rice tends to be stickier, but not as sticky as true sushi rice! :chef2:

Figures. Basmati is delicious and that's what I had been eating. Asking anyone at my Asian market anything would be impossible. None of them speak English.
