Mary Beth - I filled out a candida questionnaire, resulting in a high enough score to make me positive. We didn't really talk much about what to do with candida. When she looked at my food log to help figure out why I couldn't seem to get out of the flare, she told me not to eat honeydew melon because of the candida. She also said to stay away from alcohol for now (I was indulging in an occasional martini:)), as "it corrodes the GI lining". I love your idea about fig jam - only vaguely knew it existed :). MRT/LEAP sure opens up a whole other world of food options.
Tex - thanks for the fiber clarification - not really sure I understand it, but that's probably because what goes on in the body has never been of much interest to me until recently, so I have a lot to learn

. My take-away message is that as long as fibrous food is very well cooked, it is easier to digest, and will cause the least amount of damage to the gut while healing. As much as I like crisp veggies, I've learned to adapt to this rule :(.
Love,
Kari
