I've had problems each time I eat nut butters because they are not smooth, like peanut butter is.
I've just tested an almond butter that is smooth and didn't cause any changes in my BMs.
It is called "Barney Butter." The ingredients are: almonds, evaporated cane juice, palm fruit oil, sea salt. It is made in an almond only facility, peanut free and gluten free.

Smooth Almond Butter
You never know what you can do until you have to do it.
Hi Gloria,
Unfortunately, I reacted to almonds on MRT.
But I went to this website to see if there were any other smooth nut butters. Something caught my eye: they say it is high in vitamin E. Hopefully they didn't supplement with tocopherols to provide the vitamin E, like the Sunbutter manufacturer did. If so, there's a good chance it will contain soy. But maybe you have called the manufacturer and know that they did not. Or, I guess if it is not listed on the label you should be OK. Anyway, good luck. It's always exciting to find something we can eat. Have you tried making your own nut butters in a food processor? I haven't yet but plan to.
Have a great day,
Polly

Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused.
Polly,
Yes, I make most of my nut butters in my food processor, but they don't get as smooth as peanut butter and are too rough on my colon. Even most processed almond butters have some roughage.
I just checked Trader Joe's Sunflower seed butter, and it doesn't list any vitamin E. I stopped eating it because it's manufactured on shared equipment with soy and wanted to eliminate all possible contaminants.
I'll call Barney's to make sure they don't add tocopherols.
Thanks for the heads-up!

Yikes! I didn't realize the problem with Sunbutter was the relationship between tocopherols and soy. I notice that the Sunbutter label shows 27% vitamin E, and also states that they add "natural mixed tocopherols to preserve freshness." So you're suggesting that if there's a large amount of vitamin E, we should call the manufacturer to make sure that they haven't added tocopherols to the nut butter?Polly wrote:they say it is high in vitamin E.
