gluten/soy/dairy/egg free Jordan rocks.

Well I should say, Cosmo Supermarket in Amman rocks. I'd been there before, during my first stay. Than is was already okay, but till my great suprise they even improved their diet section. I was impressed and amazed.

In between the normal breakfast cereals I found at least 4 or 5 gluten free version (in big letters written on it Gluten free) and even found a rice cereal for a reasonable price (concerning it is 100% organic, imported from the US and in a country the only gluten free eaters are probably the foreigners). It's nature's path whole grain brown crispy rice. But also in the diet section I found an enormous amount of products of Aussies Orgran, really the best for the multi intolerants here (its nuts, soy, milk, egg, soy and whatever free), cookies, cake mix, bread mix, gravy mix, egg replacer. It is all very expensive. But that's okay, since it are products I don't need daily or only use little of. Only the idea if I want to bake a cake or muffins or bread, it is possible. My problem with cookies is, if I buy them I eat the whole box. But how great they also sell big individual chocolate cookies.

Really for me as a multiple intolerant person, it's even better than any supermarket or diet shop in Groningen.

Also I found Lindt soy and diary free chocolate 65%. To be honest I don't really like the very dark chocolate. And I even never have found the 65% in the Netherlands.

Of course all the food I am writing about is not something we need daily. But again just the idea, that if I want these things, cookies, chocolate, make a cake or bake my own bread, it is available here.

Only thing missing is the Bovista chocolate :-((

I sometimes have that problem, too. That's one of the reasons why I don't buy cookies anymore.

That's great that you have so many GF selections available. That way you always know that they're there if you should want them.

It's terrific when we discover foods we can eat in nearby grocery stores. I'm glad they seem to have expanded their collection. Be sure to read the Lindt chocolate ingredients. They always contain soy lethicin in the U.S.

Oh yes Gloria I always check of any product the ingredients, I've noticed some of the Lindt chocolate contains soy, even here. But sometimes they also don't. But thanks for reminding me.

And yes Tex one of the reasons for me nothing buying a whole box of cookies, is finishing the box within in our. So I only bought one (separated packed) large american chocolate cookie. Tasted great with my tea.

it feels like christmas when you come across finds like that!

the Orgran brand is very good, they only make gluten free (and everything else free) products, so their production line is very trustworthy. It is only over the past 12 months have most of their products become soy free as well, so there must be demand.

In Oz, every health food store, every supermarket and even some of the fruit and vege shops have the Orgran products on their shelves, here in toowoomba i have about 11 outlets that stock it.

I am so pleased that the settling in process is going well!
