I think it is great an article like this is published in a newspaper or on a CNN website. Or at least a great development. This shows that (finally) there is some attention for gluten sensitivity that goes further than just celiac.

I loved this bit!
That was 10 years ago. The general practitioner who treated Cooper was ahead of his time, as most doctors are only now starting to realize that some people who don't have celiac disease may benefit from diets free of (or low in) gluten.
You'd think something like this would be all around the medical world by now!

I was just struggling with my decision to try gluten free to help my LC and I stumbled across this article today also and was thinking of posting it here. I'm thinking it may be a sign....

I also spoke with my GI today as I've been having some issues and missed work yesterday because of it  . I brought up starting a GF diet and he said I should try it even if I have tested negative for Celiac.

So, I guess I'll go through the kitchen cabinets and frig and perform a detoxification on them! I've printed out a list of safe and unsafe foods so I'll take a look at recipes and make a new shopping list for my Saturday shopping!

Good luck Laura!!
It's incredibly tough and depressing at first, but it does get easier. Don't go too crazy buying GF alternatives like cookies, cake mixes etc. (unless you're a huge baker). First, you'll go broke, then you'll realize many of them have other no-no ingredients like soy flour or milk. But rice pasta, Udi's bread and bagels, Pamela's cookies, a pancake mix, and a few GF breakfast cereals are a sure bet. Stock up on snacks for when you're on the go too, becuase you'll quickly realize how hard it is to just "grab a snack". I live on fruit and nut bars (and plain corn or potato chips) when I go out to prevent me from starving. Bora Bora bars, Kind, Lara, Glenny's, Nature's Valley, Rice Crispy-style bars. There are lots of yummy options now (assuming you can tolerate the nuts...just be sure to chew well!).

Good Luck Laura,
I started my GF lifestyle in October and I have found it to be very workable. It is daunting at first, but once you get used to it, it is not too bad. Then only time I feel deprived or left out is when we go out to eat. I want to have the choices that everyone else has, but I have come to the conclusion that the food is not really that important. The company of friends is much more important than the food. So, I go and enjoy. You will, too!
