Whoa! That's a steep sentence considering the lack of gluten free food labeling laws currently. I agree Ziz, I hope it gives others pause. Thanks for the link.

Amazing sentence.. some don't get that long for manslaughter! Wonder if the judge has a family member who can't eat gluten??:)

Did anyone else read any of the comments? One person with celiac disease was very insistent that people who were just gluten intolerant did not "suffer lasting damage" from consuming gluten. They also implied that people with mutiple intolerances were "playing games".

You'd think that people would have some sympathy, instead of trying to keep others out of their exclusive club of suffering. The nature of human nature is even more mysterious than the nature of MC!

IMO Unless you have lived a week or a month in the world of chronic multiple intolerances, people dont have a right to comment or make judgement.

I couldn't agree more. In fact, that holds for a lot of things. If my friends (or total strangers!) who have symptoms or conditions I don't have, I assume *they* know more about the experience than I do.

There's bad karma in thinking less of someone, or ruling out that they deserve compassion, because you imagine that your own story is worse. It is very stupid to trample the sympathies of people who in a different boat... much less a very similar boat. That is definitely *not* the way for these people to garner more compassion for themselves.
