Zizzle,

Shame on you. Don't you know that articles such as that piss off most celiac doctors, and celiac "purists".

Celiac docs as a group are a hard-headed bunch, but I think that enough research on this topic is being published these days, that eventually even they will see the light.

Thanks for the link. That's a good article.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

That was just posted by someone on my GIG (Gluten Intolerance Group).

I haven't been able to attend a meeting, yet, because dog obedience school is the same time. :-(
In a few weeks, a GI from my doctor's practice will be speaking. I would so like to ask him if my doc shared any of the PP info with him.
DISCLAIMER: I am not a doctor and don't play one on TV.

Here is another report that caught my attention. Is the Mayo Clinic, by very slow degrees, changing its position????

Ant,

I believe that you're right, but they seem to be having a hard time facing up to the facts. Consider the following quote:
Trying gluten-free diets in people found to have celiac disease
Well duh! Try a GF diet for people with celiac disease? That's not exactly a revolutionary idea, since someone with celiac disease should automatically be treated with a GF diet, whether they have MC or not, but I suppose it shows that they're at least considering the possibility that the two diseases may have something in common. :headscratch:

Thanks for the link.

Tex & Ant -

On the one hand, 'duh' indeed - and on the other hand, when the giant glacier that is the Mayo Clinic begins to shift, surely there will be more and better information, in widely respected sources, soon... at least before the next Ice Age.

I think this is the most telling quote from the Mayo Clinic:
Mayo gastroenterologic surgeons are experienced experts in these procedures.
They can't tell everyone to try healing themselves with dietary changes. Then there wouldn't be customers for their surgical solutions!!
