You'll have to check with the administration on that. Before this bill was passed, I believe that it was generally illegal to order drugs from overseas suppliers, but the Justice department had adopted a policy of looking the other way, when individual consumers ordered drugs for their own use. Dealers, however, were tried and prosecuted. IOW, Customs has the option of handling this issue when the drugs arrive at their facilities.

Considering that the new "reform" bill involved some behind-the-scenes deals, in order to convince the pharmaceutical industry to support the bill, I am somewhat concerned that the administration may have agreed to clamp down on drug imports by consumers, in order to get Big Pharma's support. The pharmaceutical companies have definitely wanted to close that loophole, for a long time, and it wouldn't surprise me to learn that they were granted that concession as part of this "reform". That's just speculation on my part, however, I haven't seen any concrete evidence to support it.

If that turns out to be true, then we are in deep do-do, because you know that this "reform" will not lower the cost of drugs, or any other part of health care, in the long run. Big Pharma would not have supported it, if that were a possibility.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
