Thanks Ant, I agree with the BS flag... He did mention the 'Old' issue as well and I am only 44 -- of course I am older than he probably is.

I was able to start the Entocort last night thanks to my PCP, and I did take the extra loading dose he prescribed for today. So far no significant side effects. I am noticing that my FMS symptoms have all but vanished and my fingers are now finally warm ( I always have cold hands why would Entocort help that?).

I have not had to take the Ultram or codeine today which is a nice change as well.

I had some bloating for the first few days of entocort, but after that pretty good. It did not ban all future flares but (together with diet) over 10 month there has been a steady improvement with some ups and downs.

Joe I am glad that you getting this issue addressed, THIS IS A LIFE ALTERING AND LIFELONG DIAGNOSIS that will require commitment to your doctors, medications and a commitment to a diet that works for you.

Enjoy life when you can, and deal with the flare-ups with a positive attitude. If you have been dealing with these symptoms for years before you diagnosis, you probably have forgotten what it feels like to be well. I am certain that with medication(s) and a diet that's right for you that you will recover your health.

I am glad that you have such a supportive employer and family, that makes a significant difference. Don't underestimate the support that you will need from your wife and family (including Nestle).

Nestle certainly is a beautiful golden retriever, I wish my nurse was that good looking lol. Is that you daughter with Nestle?

Subtle is nothing I've ever been accused of.

Had an interesting exchange yesterday with a woman at a shop where I buy herbs for my DH's BP tea. Oregon enacted a law 8 years ago, that was pushed by the drug companies, which would make their store illegal. The law has yet to be enforced, but they are living on borrowed time and they know it. We got into a conversation about drug companies, which then led to a conversation about gluten, etc. and she said she is a textbook case of GS and being Italian and loving bread, she really doesn't want to give it up - and I can sympathize as someone who has been a baker all my life. I gave her the Enterolab web address and told her to Google Potty People, so she may be reading this now.

Perhaps she and I will meet there. Have a bit of a potty mouth and she does too, I loved her immediately. Say how you feel is my motto, although it has come back to bite me a few times.

Dear Joe

Here is the dose history.

June 28th 2009 to Jan 31st 2010 .....9gm a day (3 pills)
Feb 1 to Mar 10th ...... 6gm a day (2pills)
Mar 11th to date......3gm a day (1 pill) I had a flare 17th - 20th March 2010 when I went back to 6gms and took Imodium and pepto bismol which, its seems, controlled the flare.
