That is funny about CA being compared to UK and France. I guess CA is bigger than many countries in the world. I wonder why that would be? I don't think of Californians necessarily as being a homogeneous gene pool, since so many of them are relative newcomers.
Joan, I also know a man with narcolepsy. It has been extremely debilitating - his company forced him to retire since driving was a major part of his job.

The article shows Southern CA to have a much higher prevalence than Northern CA, but they only studied the caucasians in Southern CA. According to this ancestry map, Northern CA is predominately German ancestry, but since the map shows Southern CA to be predominately Mexican ancestry, it provides no information on what the predominate caucasian ethnic group might be. Maybe it's Irish?
