I love Portlandia. I think there will be a second season. It's on streaming Netflix.

Well, it's not horribly far from reality here, Gabby, I think that's why Marliss made the Portland/Alien connection, I love it here. It's a food town and the GF foodies are opening bakeries and restaurants at a rapid pace. There was an article in the Oregonian about it today and the minestrone soup recipe soup sounded unique and tasty: http://www.oregonlive.com/foodday/index ... nor_t.html

Marliss, read the article in the above link, there is an all GF grocery store in Vancouver, I hadn't heard of it before, have you been there?

I haven't seen Portlandia because we don't have TV reception. So glad to know it is on Netflix! That restaurant clip was hilarious!!

I was actually thinking about what some people wear in public here that is pretty outlandish, and some of the political stuff that goes on.

I have not been to Lingonberries, though I have a friend who loves that store.
