Dear Joe,

What an ordeal! Like you say hopefully no more "medical adventures" for this year.
Define the range of the MC throughout the GI system
That would prove that the standard definition of Microscopic Colitis is too narrow.

Let me know your travel plans to OZ and if you are swinging by Hong Kong. Would be fun to meet.

Tex said
Recent research has shown that diverticulitis is associated with a chronic inflammation pattern that is similar to the type of inflammation connected with MC,
Interesting, my father had a bad time with "diverticulitis" for the last 30 or so years of his life.

best, ant

I do hope you are feeling less sore Joe and looking forward to hearing the results of the biopsies. Not an easy go for 35. Good to get that 50,000 mile tune up before OZ.

Love, Maggie

Marliss thanks for the note, I am feeling quite a bit better today. Fortunately this was never really painful, just sore.

Ant I'm looking into flights and schedules for early June and will let you know what comes up. I think the evidence witnessed by many here is that the definition for MC is too narrow. I believe it's just that colonoscopies with biopsies are far more common, therefore the lymphocytic infiltrates and collagen band thickness issues are more frequently associated with the colon. As we know though, the entire alimentary tract from mouth onward is of the same tissue type.

Polly it was very good to wake up today knowing that I have nothing else medically planned... My 50,000 mile tune up is done, he even tightened the bolt in my neck LOL

I am looking forward to the biopsy results, I think having this thorough of a survey completed will help me fully understand what issues I will be dealing with.

To a degree I did try to make sure that all of these procedures were done during the last 10 months, as my goal was to be in Oz as soon as possible. Getting this work done with familiar doctors with good insurance while in the States makes sense. Besides the Aussies don't want a broken down and decrepit Yankee LOL

Yes the doctor Polly's Rx orders are being followed. I've been working with Gabes on schedules and will be looking at flights today. Hopefully everything will work out for early June.

I'm really glad that your "adventures" should be over and hopefully for a LONG time. I think you are wise to go ahead and try to find some answers that you'd like to know even though it made the ordeal harder. I hope the results will be very helpful to you.

Also hope you can fill that Rx real soon.

Hi Joe,

Wow - that's a lot of "snipping" - glad it's behind you and you're feeling better. Perhaps your other Oz "deal" falling through was meant to be, so you could get all of this out of the way while still in the US. I sooo hope that the results will be good, and easy to manage, whether you're here or in Oz.

Hope your "Nurse" is taking good care of you - where does she go when you travel??? Wish you the best.

Love,
Kari

Good luck Joe. You've been poked and prodded enough for one year. I always wondered what a biopsy looked like so thanks for the visual. Hope the tummy feels better soon. :toilet4:
