Wayne, what a surprise that must have been. Not to worry, though. I think you hit the nail on the head regarding the reason. Especially since you don't have any symptoms of having a "leak" with peritonitis (fever, pain, extreme abdominal tenderness, etc.). It does aggravate me that patients are not told about these things - everyone should be told at discharge just what can be expected. It would greatly reduce the stress level, wouldn't it?
It should be slowing down/stopped by now, I would guess. Of course, you will continue to have some discharge because of continous mucus production and shedding of intestinal cells. You are becoming quite the storyteller!!
