Re: I need your help please.
Hello again,
I am here to update my status and explain my experience with Colesevelam. I would very much like to have good news and be able to say that finally my condition has improved but it has not. Colesevelam has not worked for me. I have taken as many as six tablets and no improvement. With and without enzymes, with and without Betaine. Nothing. I doubt I have BAM.
I have also been having water in my stool for almost a month now, I have gotten worse. It's not that I was never well but I was having more pasty stools with more consistency. I continue with the super strict diet. I haven't allowed myself to slip up since I started. I have lost weight again and my energy, although it didn't suffer much at first, is now starting to get worse. I keep hydrated with the serum suggested here every day. My Vit D and Magnesium values in this month's blood work were in the right range. I don't know what else to do. Any ideas?
My family doctor has recommended me to an integrative digestologist. I have an appointment with her next week. I know she diagnoses and treats diseases with bioresonance. I am not going in with high expectations but I think that, minus the money, I am not losing anything by trying it. I am already a little desperate and lost about what to do. I see that, on paper, I do everything right and there is no way to improve. It's hopeless!!!

Re: I need your help please.
Hello Marta,
May I ask, how many times a day do you have stools?
For quite a while I would have a watery stool but only once a day and it ended up being because I was ingesting too much salt in a day. Either salt or magnesium. I simply cannot ingest too much electrolyte (salt, magnesium, potassium) in a day or I will end up with an urgent watery stool the next day.
Of those three salts I can tolerate Potassium the best. I can tolerate a small amount of salt and Magnesium not at all - I have to take Magnesium topically.
Not to say that is your problem, it could still be something in your limited diet that you are reacting to; or something in your environment (including stress). But maybe cut back on salt/electrolytes for a few days to see if that helps.

Re: I need your help please.
John,
Step to the head of the class. You're clearly ready for graduate level studies in MC.
Martha
The reason John may be correct is because whenever the body believes there is a need to purge the contents of the digestive system, it does so by instructing the small intestine to infuse sodium into the fecal stream. This initiates diarrhea, and when it reaches the colon, even more electrolytes are infused, along with additional water (in the case of MC reactions), and this amplifies the diarrhea.
In other words, as John suggests, Reduce your intake of certain electrolytes for a few days to see if that might be the problem. Electrolytes that regulate fluid balance include sodium, chloride, and magnesium.

Re: I need your help please.
Thank you very much John and Tex.
My number of bowel movements can vary from day to day. Sometimes I only have two in a day and sometimes seven or eight. Mostly they are all concentrated in the morning but sometimes also in the afternoon and evening. The pain never stops accompanying me.
I will eliminate the serum that I prepare daily so as not to dehydrate myself for a few days. And I will stop putting salt in my food as well. So, I drink only water to stay hydrated? We are in the middle of a heat wave and we sweat a lot, even the nights are sweltering. I don't know if water will be enough to keep me from getting dehydrated.
Thank you very much

Re: I need your help please.
Marta,
You are correct. We have to have at least a minimal amount of salt and other electrolytes to keep from becoming dehydrated, especially during a heat wave. The only time I have problems with salt causing diarrhea is when I overdo it, such as seating too many salty corn chips, for example. Dehydration can also cause diarrhea.

Re: I need your help please.
Tex, so what other options do I have for hydration?
I keep the salt out of my meals and drink lots of water?
Would coconut water be an option?
I don't drink anything but water since I can't even remember. I would only add whey when I was having totally watery stools like I am now.
Thank you very much

Re: I need your help please.
Coconut water should be helpful for hydration, because it contains electrolytes. But I'm not sure it contains salt, so you probably need to read the label if you decide to use it. I'm guessing that you're already using the information in the post at the following link, regarding dehydration:

Re: I need your help please.
Thank you Tex. Having functional diarrhea has been a big motivator for me to learn all I can about the digestive system.
Marta, some of the tricks I use to avoid excess salts. One, I never salt my food after cooking, that seems to help. Also, I stagger the type of electrolyte I take day by day - I'll take potassium on one day (as much as I can tolerate) and then salt my food the next day. I'm hoping that someday I can include Magnesium in that rotation, but I fear that it's going to be a long while before that occurs (if ever).
So, if your problem is electrolyte ingestion then you will have to experiment with what you can tolerate.
I would not eliminate the possibility of something in your diet causing an immune reaction though, or possibly a histamine reaction. I've had an immune reaction three times that I know of, and it always has had a panoply of symptoms; frequent and urgent watery stools (usually in the morning), cramping, tenesmus and abdominal discomfort. My weight will start to drop quickly, and I get an itchy rash around my sternum and along my spine. With the salt problem there is no urgency to speak of, and I will only have to go once or twice in a day.
It's a confusing disease that we have.

Re: I need your help please.
Tex, I have looked at the label of the coconut water and it only has its own salt, not added. In the nutritional information it says that it has 0.04 gr. of 100gr. of water. I understand that it is very little and if it would work for me.
If I follow the recommendations of the link that you have passed me. The homemade whey that I was preparing was exactly the one you suggest.
John, thank you very much for your recommendations. I don't think I have had any histamine problems. I have never noticed any of the symptoms described.
For now I am going to go a few days without the homemade whey or salt in my meals. I will try coconut water so I don't get dehydrated. And see what happens.... and I will tell you.
How right you are John, it is a very confusing and disconcerting disease.
Thank you very much

Confusing MC !!!!! It sure is! If not for Tex and his knowledge we who use his knowledge are much better off than those who use a GIs knowledge of MC ….
MC is HIGLY UNDERRATED by the medical profession !

Totally Weepy!!! That's the first thing they tell you when you are diagnosed. Don't worry, it's nothing serious and with medication you won't even know you have it. Just like that!!!
If it wasn't for Tex and the forum, for me, this would be even worse than it is. I will be eternally grateful!!!

Re: I need your help please.
Hey Marta,
May I ask, what's in your homemade whey? When I am looking at ingredients and I see whey in the product it's a big "nope" for me.
Also, hot weather can be a problem - especially if you are exerting yourself on a hot day. Your body coping with heat can cause physical stress.

Re: I need your help please.
Hi John,
I prepare the homemade serum suggested in the link Tex left me a few messages above about dehydration.
Its ingredients are:
1 quart (950 ml) water
½ teaspoon (2.5 g) baking soda
½ teaspoon (2.5 g) table salt
3 to 4 tablespoons (45 to 60 g) sugar
If available, add ¼ teaspoon (1.25 g) salt substitute, such as "Lite Salt".
To me it has always been good for me, on the other hand of the prepared bought ones, very few have been good for me. And the cost when you are in the middle of an outbreak of many days is also high.
I have to say that I have already tried coconut water and it has been good for me. I don't drink it straight, I dilute it with water. Half coconut water - half normal water. But the cost is also high.
Today I have to say that my stools have become more pasty. Let's see if I can hold on. In the end it will be the sal..... I will let you know.

Re: I need your help please.
Hello again ,
I definitely think salt is not the problem. After all these days without salt I am still the same. I had a couple of days that my stool became mushy but then it went back to water. I also stopped the coconut water in case it was the cause and nothing improved.
At the end of last week I went for a visit with the dra. that was recommended to me. The one who did diagnosis and treatment with Bioresonance. It was not bad. Her explanations seemed reasonable to me. I have my doubts that what she is proposing will work. Right from the start, she told me that I could not eat potato and I could eat rice, which contradicts the results of Enterolab. I told him that I would stop eating potato but I would not reintroduce rice. I have also had to give up buckwheat and other foods. According to her, my digestive system is so weak that all the external agents that can harm me have agreed to do so. Environmental toxins, fungi, parasites, sluggish viruses, reminiscences of the Covid vaccine, food intolerances... are making it impossible for me to get better. He is fine with my diet even though he thinks there are foods that would not harm me (I am not going to risk going back on them).
He proposes that I take a series of food supplements to detoxify my body of all these agents he says. It is going to be a slow process because we will start with some of them and, little by little, we will try the rest in phases. I should start by taking these ampoules five days a week:
ENTHEROVITAL: Purified water, natural wormwood extract 0.1 ml (Artemisia absinthium L. aerial parts) (α+ β thujone content < 0.0003 mg), concentrated lemon juice, zinc bisglycinate 12.5 mg, preservative: potassium sorbate, stabilizer: xanthan gum.Active ingredients per 1 single-dose vial: zinc, 2.5 mg (25% NRV*).
SOLARVITAL: Purified water q.s. 5 ml, potassium carbonate 5 mg, sodium selenite 20 mcg. Active ingredients per 5 ml single dose vial: Selenium, 9.13 mcg (16.60 NRV*) Potassium, 2.83 mg (0.14 % NRV*).
*NRV: Nutrient Reference Value.
What do you think? He told me that, in principle, there should be no side effects because the doses would be like homeopathy. I think I am going to try it, I will not give up my diet or my current guidelines. I will just add these vials.
I will open a topic just for Bioresonance to make it easier for those who want to look for information.
Thank you very much
