Thought I would share information about a couple of recent doctor visits. I decided to go to a clinic (my description) in Houston a few weeks ago. A coworker has had noticeable results in six months. This place specializes in thyroid and allergy treatment. They take your health history online. Your first visit you receive medications based on your health history and the initial exam. It is too soon for me to see much improvement, but the bio-identical hormones seem to help my hot flashes and night sweats so far.
Today I started their yeast free diet that is a little more restrictive than the GF diet. In two weeks I add fruit back. When I am not having any symptoms of yeast die off (probably 2-3 months), I can add a few carbs back. They recommend you stay on this very low carb diet to keep the nasty symptoms from coming back.
Now to the really interesting part . . . I had an infection (boil) show up the same week of the visit in Houston. Went to my GP and he gave me antibiotics and finally I get to stop the antibiotics because this spot is well. Today, I gave my GP a list of the prescriptions and supplements this new doctor ordered for me. He looked at the list and asked when my next visit was. Told him, I have a phone consultation the first part of September and lab work is also due. He told me to bring in the orders for the lab work. He wants me to come back about that time so he can check my liver enzymes. He said their lab can run all the tests the other doctor wants run.
Sounds like he will actually work with this other doctor. Sorry for the long post but wanted to provide the details.
Take care

Wow! That's refreshing, isn't it - a doctor who's secure enough in his own capabilities that he doesn't feel threatened at the mention of a patient seeing another doctor, especially when the use of the internet is involved.
I'll bet he recognizes it as a good opportunity to learn about the other operation. Good for him.
Please keep us posted on how the new treatment goes.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
