Another Free Meal at Outback Steakhouse

Post by Gloria »

Yep, it happened again. I ordered an Outback hamburger w/o a bun, no cheese, but add bacon.

When they delivered it, cheese was on top of the burger. I told them this was the second time they've given me cheese on my burger. I had to wait for another meal. I already watched DH eat the bread and butter, then I had to watch him eat his meal while I waited for mine. I told him if he was done with his meal before my new one arrived, we were leaving. We'd been there over an hour by then. (I didn't want to eat there yesterday..why go out for a burger?)

The manager came and apologized (again) and offered to give me some broccoli with my meal. She said it had butter on it (remember that, folks) and I told her I would take the broccoli w/o the butter.

I didn't have any problem with my meal at Outback's when I was on vacation.

When the check came, my meal was free again. I told DH that the kitchen must have said "Not her again" when they were chewed out by the manager.

 Maybe they'll eventually learn, but it's hard to trust a place like that.

The problem with eating out with MC, is that it's counterintuitive. That's what makes it so frustrating. Eating out is supposed to be an enjoyable, relaxing experience, but you can't relax, when you have to be constantly on the lookout for mistakes, and you can't really enjoy it, because of the nagging concerns in the back of your mind, that even though everything seems OK, something might be hidden, and cause a reaction, anyway.

Call me chicken, but I've gotten to where I rarely play the game, anymore. It just doesn't seem worth the risk, for what little I get out of it.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
