Bread

Post by Delta »

I guess the thing I miss more than anything is bread. We make our own most of the time because frankly the stuff I've found (GF) is better suited to build a house with than a sandwich. I was headed out the door of the local health foods store and just as I reached the door my favorite cleark who was sitting behind the counter asked me if I had tried the new bread they were carrying, I said "I have all the bricks I needed" or something to that effect. Anyhow she arm twisted me into buyin yet another loaf of what I thought would be crud, and guess what? NOT! This stuff had flavor, wasn't gritty, honestly if you didn't know it was GF bread, you wouldn't be able to tell. Try some I thing you'll like it.

OK back for the last weekend of deer season, hung a nice one a week ago and one more tag to fill. Lots of turkey running around too,

these shots were taken from 75 yds away, so a little fuzzy.

Thanks. You're right, of course - tolerable GF breads are as scarce as hen's teeth. That looks like a good find, especially since their products are apparently available over much of the country.

I couldn't help but notice how dry it looks out there. It looked the same way here, most of the summer, but we had a little over 12 inches of rain, last weekend, so now, everything is as green as a gourd.

It looks like you may have your Thanksgiving dinner lined up.

Thanks for the tip, and the photos.

Thanks for the link for the bread. Is it frozen? Please let us know about their other GF products. I will print out the page and take it to my HF store. They have been good about ordering the SF spread and the Food-Tek products for me.

Enjoyed your photos.

yes the bread comes to the store frozen.

Yes its dry. We've been in a 3 year drought. We had some dry lightning last weekend, several 300-400 year old oaks went down from strikes, fortunately even though the state seems to be in financial implosion at the moment CDF was on the job, they were at the gate when I got there and put the fires out pronto. I believe I heard 150 or so fires were started from the lightning. I wish I had my good camera at the time, I have never witnessed such a display, although it's common in some parts of the country, not so much here. But for the most part we get very little rain from June thru October and the hills are always dry this time of the year. Those turkeys are like a clock, I just hope they hold their pattern until Thanksgiving, although my wife thinks I should let them be  we'll have to see about that.

Delta...I get my bread on prescription from glutafin.. Costs me £13 for three months for a prescription certificate...goverment in uk has reduced prescription charges and are planning to abolish charges soon.
. Ilove bread and I have tried most in the stores but they are pretty expensive to buy about £2.25 a loaf. I have also did loads of breadbaking with all the gf flours but I agree they never taste the same as real bread. Could use some of them as door stoppers lol...mind you the birds in the garden love it dipped in .water lol  since I've been getting glutafins products I've never looked back.... Guess it's differnt for u guys in us? Love the pics delta.
