eating out gf in Phoenix area

Post by Alice »

Hi everyone,

I just got back from a trip to the Phoenix area where I had to eat out daily. I thought I had died and gone to heaven because there were so many gf places to chose from! While in a tiny cafe right across the street from our hotel in Fountain Hills, my husband ran into the owner of www.glutenfreeregistry.com . I went over and introduced myself, and she told me about some good places to go to eat in the area. The little cafe served gf bread that was the best I've ever had (glutenfreecreations.com). The owner and staff knew all about the gf diet. They were very accommodating.

If you go to the gf registry cited above, you'll find all sorts of help in eating out. In the Phoenix area there was a chain of Pizza Picazzo restaurants, which have permanent signs on the front doors endorsing their food by the Celiac Sprue Association of America. The pizza was great and they had a separate gf menu. We also tried Sourdough Pizza, which had complete gf awareness and choices for gf pizza and pasta dishes. They also had gf desserts.

I hope this will help if you are going to the Phoenix area!

Love,
Alice
