Last week my mother went away with the car and my sister had put one of her monkeys in the front on the passenger seat. My mother left him there (ollie is his name) and put him in the safety belt. On the high way, a police car guide her to a parking place and stopped here. She was wondering what could be wrong, she was wearing her safety belt (as the monkey did too
The police officer told her she was stopped, because they saw there was a baby in the car in the front seat in a safety belt. That wasn't allowed, not save and she should now better that specials seats were needed for babies and young children. I think at that moment my mother was replying the baby was actually a monkey and not even a real one, the officer also saw what the real problem was.
She could immediately continue her trip, didn't even have to show her drivers license or car paper. They probably thought she was some kind of lunatic. She felt so ashamed and stupid and we of course all had a good laugh about it.
I don't think there is a law in the Netherlands that forbids to transport your plush monkeys in your car in the front site, very well protected in the safety belt.
