I have a dear friend who works in the GMO research side of things in St. Louis. He assures me that he has talked to the powers that be at Monsanto about GMO, and is confident that GMO is the answer to the world's hunger problem. I am confident that he is confident, and value our friendship too much to say anything more about it. I am a little conflicted about this, as someday what I view as the inevitable consequences of tinkering with nature will show themselves, possibly in a drastic way, and he may feel devastated by the part he played in it.
