Hello Friends

Post by ant »

Dear Friends and to all newbies welcome!!

I want to say I am still around and got back from Sydney a few days ago. There are over 500 new posts to read so I need to find a spare few hours to go through them.

I seem to be back operating my business at full steam ahead (thanks to Entocort - back down to one a day - and diet....and the knowledge I continually get from PP). I am focusing on work to pay for meds and doctors visits etc. For the last two years I have eaten into precious savings and thought I was on both a financial and medical free fall.....now I dare to hope that I can build something back. I know that a new flare can happen at any moment, but I think I understand my body much better now.

I fly to UK next week (weather permitting), for another two day workshop and presentation. Then stay on to visit my mother and other family members for Christmas and New Year.

I hope to spend some quality time on the board as soon as possible. Please rest assured, I am still very much here (just going "walkabouts" as I think they say Down Under).

Best wishes, Ant

It's good to hear from you, Ant, and learn that you are doing so well! We started on this forum at about the same time 18 months ago. At that time, we both were just starting our journey and trying to figure out our food intolerances and what combination of medications might help. Now you are healed enough to have the energy and enthusiasm to tackle life again, and your business is taking off! How inspiring!!

As for me, I'm doing well, and have a lot more pep. After a year I thought that I was doing well, but looking back after an additional 6 months, I realize that I'm still healing and improving. It sure takes a long time! And just in the last month I've gotten excited about a business idea I'm developing. I would never have had the energy for that earlier in the process. Now after reading all the recent posts on how stress can cause flares, I will be careful not to overtax my energy levels and back off if I start to deteriorate........ But it sure feels good to have some enthusiasm again.

Ant,

I'm so glad you are doing well on one Entocort per day. If I can maintain on that, I'll be satisfied.

I hope you enjoy your visits with your family. It sounds like a pretty busy holiday season for you.

Glad you're able to spend more time on your business.

It doesn't take long to accumulate a lot of unread messages on the board - just a couple of days it seems.

Ant, it is good to hear from you and you sound great! Glad to hear the finances are improving; always a worry! Glad the flare did not get you down and that you easily are back to one Entocort. Hope you have a safe trip next week and a wonderful Christmas with your family. Love Ginny

Hi Ant,

Glad to hear things are going well with your MC and that you enjoyed your trip to Sydney. Hope things go well with your visit with your mom - if I remember correctly there was some stress concerning issues regarding your mom.

Take care,

Hope you manage to get across to good old Blighty OK. As far as I am aware, the snow should be stopping here soon. I'm in the midlands and it hasn't snowed here now since thursday morning! The further north you go into the UK though the deeper the show gets! Its about a foot deep where I am!

Linda I am coping with it by staying indoors and taking pictures!

Yeah the UK usually comes to a halt when we have 2 inches of snow, but after the weather last year we where a bit more prepared for it this year! But still everyone seems suprised at the disruptions that the snow has caused!

ANT!! :ant:

I am delighted to learn that things are looking up for you. It sounds as if you brought the flare under control much more quickly than I did with my recent flare. I do think the Entocort helps, and I wouldn't hesitate to use it next time if needed, based upon your experience. That's good news that you are feeling well enough to devote more time to your business, too. I don't know how you do it, running all over the planet as you do! You are amazing and an inspiration, especially to our members here who are afraid to venture out because of the D and dietary restrictions. Maybe you should write a brochure on "Travelling the Globe with MC".

Have a lovely visit with your mom and other relatives and get lots of R and R!

Love,

Polly

He Ant good to hear from you and good to know you are doing okay, although back on entecort and diet. Well when it comes to diet and pills we can shake hands, I am also still on entecort, for over a year now and till now i haven't even tried to stop. And of course diet, where would we be without the diet.

I am sorry to read that this disease eat up almost all your savings.. Hope you we have a good earning years ahead. I wish you good luck with it.

And isn't it amazing all the snow in Europe. Also in the Netherlands there is snow and day and night below zero. This time of year it is really out of the ordinary. I fly back to the Netherlands on the 17th of december, I hope to see a green and not a white country.
