After two months on Entocort, and being D free all this time, I am having my first reoccurrance of it. I've only been up for an hour and have been on the pot 7 times already.
I am not 100 % sure what has caused this but strongly suspect it was the egg yolk I put in the rice pudding I made last night. I had thought I was able to tolerate egg yolk since I have had it twice in hollandaise and was Ok, but it seems not. DH just reminded me that I also made rice pudding with a yolk last week and I was fine.
I just hope it doesn't take a long time for me to get back on track. I took an extra Entocort this morning ( total two.) I find it amazing that such a small amount of a "forbidden" food can cause such a huge reaction. When we are doing well, the D seems so far away and it is so easy to take the normalacy for granted! It's a shock to realize what a tightrope we walk... one small mis-step and we are off the path and on that slippery slope so quickly!
Hopefully walking the straight and narrow again soon,
Linda

Sooo sorry that you're experiencing a set back. I'm glad for you that you do well with Entocort, which will hopefully help to bring Norman back in no time. I've been wondering if you started drinking Gatoraid, as you said you planned to? I became suspicious of it and dropped it a few days back.
One of these days I have to figure out how to use all those cool icons, since right now I'd like to send you a GIANT hug!!! Hope the D turns out to be short lived!!!
Love,
Kari

When you get to a place where you want to add an emoticon, just click on the link below the emoticons, that says "View more Emoticons", and when the pop-up window appears, expand it so that you can easily locate the emoticon, (or emoticons), that you want, and then simply click on the ones that you want. The system will automatically add the proper code to your message.
You can cut, copy and paste them, if you want. Just be sure to leave at least one blank space in front of the first colon in each emoticon, otherwise most browsers will not correctly display the emoticon.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Linda, those setbacks are disheartening. Sometimes it is just hard to figure out what sets you off, especially when you ate something with success before and now it doesn't work. It might have been the time of day you ate it, or with what you ate with! Anyhow lots of hugs and hope you are feeling better. Ginny

That's a heck of a note. Apparently, you're also sensitive to the protein in the yolk, or maybe some of the albumen is hanging onto the yolk when the egg is separated.
I hope you can get back on track promptly.

I found an electrolyte mix at our health store called ElectroMix. It is gluten free (I called the company) and it comes in packets. One packet makes 1 liter of drink. It is unsweetened (except for a touch of stevia) with just a hint of lime and a slightly salty taste. There are 30 packets to a box and it costs around $12.
Whoa! Talk about being sensitive to entocort. Norman just came to visit! I only took the two entocort four and a half hours ago, and I was really quite bad this morning! Yeah!
Kari, I actually have been meaning to post on the gatorade but I couldn't remember the two people who told me about it .. Granny and... Gloria? (now I am afraid to guess you Gloria :-) ) .. to thank them, and I was going to have go back over posts to find out. Anyhow, it seems to be working I bought the powder ( thank you Granny.)
I seem to need only one 8 oz glass a day. I am so pleased. I just have to remember to drink it . I am not normally a juice drinker so I have to really make an effort.
Kari, I've been taking it for about two weeks now and have been fine up until today so I don't think it is not the gatorade that bothered me. My DH is not feeling well today either ( digestive issues, too) so maybe we got a bug or both ate something that did this. He doesn't have Entocort to save him , poor thing
I am not going to give up on the eggs yet.. I'll wait and try the yolk again. thanks for all your support everyone. You guys ar awesome!!
Hugs,
Linda

I'm guessing you caught some sort of bug. Happened to me Sunday in the wee hours, hit me hard for a day, and now I am slowly getting back to my less than normal self. Lot's of flu bugs going around per the local doctors. I would give anything to respond to Entocort like you do. Recall my doc had my coming down off Entocort but screw it, I'm going back to 3/day for a while to see if I get any benefit.
Glad you are better!
