Safe Supplements
Do any of you have some ideas about safe vitamins to take with this stupid disease? I was taking a multi-vitamin, vit D, Calcium and fish oil before this thing began in October. I'm still having difficulties with D, but at least have slept through one whole night last night. With my diet consisting of rice, broth and some chicken washed down with Gatorade, I think some kind of vitamin supplementation would be a good idea, but I'm too scared to try anything.

I just emailed Feeda Vitamins to ask about soy. I found out that both my multivitamin and my Omega-3 have gluten and soy. Geez! No wonder I'm not feeling as well as I should! Who thought taking vitamins and supplements could be THIS hard?
I'm glad that the vitamin I found is also one that you all know about and take.
I'll be seeing a Family Practitioner with a specialty in Alternative Medicine this week. I'll be asking for vitamin level tests. I talked to him on the phone before making the appointment. When I mentioned gluten sensitivity he said he believed in it. I was almost dumbfounded! I asked, you do? He said that enough of his patients have told him they are gluten intolerant and he believes them. I'm hoping that I've finally found someone with an open mind.

I can't help you with a brand, but how I did it was, put my walking shoes on and checked out all shops in town that sell multivitamins. Also, if you have them, bring your reading classes. Those letters are sometimes so small and on a dark colored back ground almost impossible to read. In the end I exactly found 1 (yes one) "everything free" multivitamin that was not absurd expensive. With a lot of things it seems, the less is in it, the more you pay for it. It's a local dutch brand, so useless for anyone here. I also use vitamin D drops from the same brand. And also they have"everything" free calcium tablets.
I order my calcium tablets now online, is a dutch company, but their website also in English, so I think they also take orders outside of the Netherlands, for the US it will be a bit useless I think, but for european members this can be useful. There website is www.vitunique.nl (in the corner right you can switch to English). I am mentioning this website, because their calcium tablet are free of everything, are chewing tablet that taste okay and are cheap (okay I am sound like somebody counting every penny, but there is so much overprized vitamine stuff on the market, that is exactly the same is cheaper versions, I refuse to pay a lot because of those BS marketing as 'natural' 'bio energetically' 'body original' blablabla)
2,50 euros for 60 pills of 250 gram calcium each. For me that's a 3 week supply.
good luck with finding your vitamins.
