Post by jmayk8 »

So i went to see my derm for my chest rash and my itchy scalp. She gave me some medicated shampoo and took my blood work...she just emailed me this...

Your blood electrolytes, kidney function tests and thyroid function tests were normal.
Your liver function tests were stable.

Details of other blood chemistry tests as follows:
Potassium, whole bld/plasma: 3.7 (Normal Range = 3.6 to 5.0)

ANA (qual): POS

ANA Titer: 1:640

ANA HEP2 (Pattern): HOMOGENEOUS+SPECKLED

Anion Gap: 8 (Normal Range = 8 to 16)

GFR (estimated): >60 (Normal Range = 60 to 128)

Mitochondrial Ab: <0.1

Your ANA was positive with a high titer. Please see one of our rheumatologists for further workup and recommendations.
What does these mean??!!

Jenny,

Your ANA results suggest the possibility of SLE, but that may need to be confirmed with further tests, of course.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
