the funny parts of MC (or MC diet)

Post by harma »

Maybe a strange name for a thread, as is if it is fun to have MC. But something just popped up in my head, I want to share here. It has to do with the MC diet.

In November I had a friend over in Jordan for a visit, Fiona. She knows about my MC and my diet, but had never experienced me 5 days with my diet. During her stay, we also went to Petra. From Amman that is not a one day trip (unless you want to leave at six in morning. Since I am not an early bird, small change this will happen). So we stayed overnight in Petra. Than the question is how to survive food wise, two days away from home. First day was easy, took lunch and dinner with me. Second day, food out of tins + good old banana's. Canned fruit and canned sardines and one can of red beets.

Fiona thought this was all very funny, our first break I ate a large tin of fruit and of course she took a photo of it. Later walking down of one of Petra most beautiful place, I opened a can of my Sardines and click picture again.

It made me realize, you can look it, complaining and feeling very sorry for yourself, being in one of the 7 world's miracles with your bagpack filled with beet rout, sardines and fruit in tins or just see how ironic it all is and laugh about it and have fun about it

Later, in de the End of January, Fiona had a goodbye party because she and her family moved back to the UK. There for the first time I met her son and daughter and both separate from each other: "I know you" "from pictures" "mum visited you in Jordan "you are the one eating Sardines, Canned Fruit and beet roots in Petri".

So, yes our diet maybe a bit extreme sometimes, especially away from our own kitchen. And makes us also a bit odd so now and than (carrying around our own lunch and dinner, surviving on a tin of fruit and fish), but people do remember you

Right there with you Harma.

I know it probably looks and sounds strange to us non-MCers - but I know I have done the same thing but minus the pictures from the friend. Makes some people realize what we really deal with.

Love, Maggie
