Useful lunch-packing aid: foldable water bottle!

Post by sarkin »

I think I mentioned the store I frequent that's just perfectly set up to tempt the impulse shopper... Last time, I avoided this product, but my husband talked me into it: http://vapur.us/

It's freezable and dishwasher-able - I'm planning to freeze it and use it as a cold-pack in my lunch. It really does roll up to a teensy thing, so won't be an annoyance either in the kitchen drawer or the pocket/purse.

I know this isn't really MC-specific, but so many of us are packing a lot of food - I've always hated those freezer-pack things, which take up freezer space and always manage to leak. (Of course my water bottle also takes up freezer space - but only when it's on duty!) Mine's orange (cheerful!), and currently freezing water for tomorrow. I'm going to try to freeze unsweetened green tea next.

We're getting more - they're having a sale on a "fun pack" of the smaller size.

Hope this helps someone,

Sara

That's a pretty nifty design. Let me know if it works. It might be something I could use in my son's lunch box.

Sara,

I've been looking for a container to hold frozen almond milk when we travel. I didn't want to store a large container after I used the milk. This sounds like it will work wonderfully. I see that they sell them in Eddie Bauer stores.

Thanks for the tip!

Gloria

Gloria,

I haven't frozen our homemade almond milk yet (and am about to embark on homemade coconut milk). I can't wait!

I'll let you know how it goes. The smaller size "fun pack" is 8 of the .4 liter size, for $48. I believe that it is worth the investment to cover my MC lifestyle, and my husband's kayaking/adventure-weekend needs...

I can tell you already that it freezes beautifully, and am looking forward to bringing it with my lunch tomorrow. What a relief - our hot weather is here for real in NYC!

Love,
Sara
