confusing

I am still in some kind of bowel fight, they only seems to have two gears at the moment, it's or racing or stopping. When I eat my normal diet including some fruit and veggies I have to run every morning to the toilet and clear myself out. But if I on my rice, fish, chicken diet, bowels seem to stop working and don't visit the hammaan for sometimes two days, in other words constipated. While writing this, I feel like an old lady in a retirement home, seems to be the coffee table talk there.

Although D is not party too, I also hate that feeling of bowels that are full and just don't work at all.

I've tried to lower the dosage of entocort, but it does not seem to make any difference, still C. Now I have started to introduce some new food items again, I am eating some veggies again and some canned fruit, still C. So lowered the entocort again till one the other day and now the D seems to get back, sigh!!! Complicated.

I am using fiber, it's called apple fiber (brought from NL to Jordan), and tried flaxseed and a combination of both. That works if I use a lot, but of course than my bowels get irritated again of too much fiber. I've also tried psyllium fiber, but does not seem to do anything.

Now I know there are certain type of medication for C, some fiber or bulky things that can be used for C. Of was thinking of trying something like that. But does anyone, have any clue here about, what they are called or what the active compound is?

A while ago I have tried to discuss this with my GI, but he was not very helpful, his reaction was just lower your Entocort. I still don't understand why it is ok with Crohn or UC to use medication to suppress the inflammation and use something for C and with MC just tell people "lower your medication and figure it out yourself". I haven't looked for a good GI here yet, that could be an option. Another thing I was thinking was an e-consult with my GP in NL and ask him for possibilities.

Because I am getting a bit tired of this bowel nagging. I just want to be able to go to toilet without having D.

Anyone recognisees this problem?

Well, have you tried adding a few prunes to your diet? Their high sorbitol content is probably what makes them effective as a laxative, but prunes are also claimed to help prevent osteoporosis, as an added benefit. White grapes are high in sorbitol, and they cause me to have D. Some people are affected by their sulfite content.

Magnesium supplement is another item that can cause D, if too much is ingested. Milk of Magnesia, for example, is an old remedy that uses magnesium as a laxative.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Some benign form of magnesium might be gentle, if you start with a small dose, and work up little by little. Magnesium chloride is the type I'm using (topically - but you can add some to water, too). Sorry to hear your symptoms are still troublesome, and hope you get some relief SOON,

I would use Miralax when I had C. It is colorless and tasteless. I believe it is polypropylene glycol. I haven't had to use it at all for the last six months, so I'm not sure how it affects MC.

Hugs,
