Speaking in terms of of mast cells, this is recently what my reaction has been if I eat eggs or a banana.
I actually notice a histamine reaction by having a runny nose.. I have been monitoring this so yes, I immediately have this reaction. I don't eat alot of the high histamine foods to cause an overload.
Has anyone else had this type of reaction????

Dee,

Yes, I have had rhinitis from some foods. Be sure your eggs are super fresh - very thick and not watery. Histamine builds as eggs age - same for overripe bananas.

Hi Dee,

That definitely sounds suspicious. If I recall correctly, casein-sensitivity is notorious for causing that symptom, (especially in kids, and I know that you're still a kid at heart  ), though other food-sensitivities can cause it as well. Eggs, (aged, as Mary Beth pointed out), and bananas, can certainly be considered to be high histamine foods.

As time goes on, more and more members here are discovering that they have mast cell issues connected with their MC. Now if our doctors would just catch up with the discovery of new developments such as these.

Love,

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

I haven't had an answer from my doc about mast cells. I need to address it with him.
