maintenance dose of entocort

Post by scrowley »

when i went to see my GI last week, he said if i got a flare again he would consider putting me back on entocort or think about a maintenance dose of entocort to stay on for the long term or go on it as needed basis.
i dont like any of thos4e ideas.
but is anyone here on a so called maintenance dose of entocort long term?
or does everyone just deal with the flare ups with diet alone and use entocort if absolutely necessary?
thanks alot,
sheila

Yes, as far as I'm aware, more than a few members use a maintenance dose of Entocort, ranging from 6mg per day, (the labeled maintenance dose for Crohn's disease), down to 3mg ever second or third day. At those low dosage rates, side effects are usually not an issue.

Most members using that dosage are probably no longer posting here regularly, though.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
