Paleo Physicians Network

Post by MBombardier »

I am not real talented with the search function on the forum (the yellow pages have always been quite a challenge as well--I'm so thankful for Google) so I apologize if this has been posted before:

The Mission: The purpose of the Paleo Physicians Network (PPN) is to provide a simple interface between health conscious consumers and the medical professionals who practice Darwinian/Evolutionary Medicine.

Health practitioners in the PPN share these values: For non-emergent (life threatening) situations the first intervention for most issues should derive from an Evolutionarily consistent framework including, Paleo Nutrition, sleep patterns, socialization, and exercise which is consistent with the processes which formed the H. Sapien genome.

No, I've never seen that, so I doubt that it's ever been posted.

I wonder if they perform surgery with stone knives, (I've heard of it being done, just to demonstrate how sharp stone knives can be made).

Thanks,

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Well, I'm never going to undergo anesthesia again, if I can help it, so... good to know those knives are sharp!

Marliss, seriously - thanks for this. I saw a blog reference somewhere to a doctor in NYC who's Paleo-minded, but there was no additional info. I believe I'm going to need to trade-in my PCP, much as I like her in some ways. It will be interesting to see whether the 'thinking' part of the Paleo community can jump-start the 'medical narrow-mindedness' part of that community.

in other words, first use common sense and how lifestyle en diet changes might solve the problem before running into to any pills. I am sure these doctors won't be popular with the big pharma companies.

Morning Sara,

You are not the only one trading in a PCP. I really like mine too but she just does not get it. Symptom = Script - not my way to do things.

Love, Maggie
