Regarding egg intolerance...

Post by Zizzle »

I know many members here are egg intolerant and/or have tested positive through Enterolab. Lucy's post about being egg WHITE intolerant made me think...couldn't the egg intolerant eat egg yolks? Having fed my infants egg yolks as one of their first foods (a practice endorsed by the Weston A. Price Foundation), I know that the whites are the allergenic part of the egg. Couldn't members with egg intolerance eat egg yolks? It may not be appetizing for some, but for those needing to gain weight and add vitamins and nutrients to a limited diet, egg yolks are power-packed.

Any thoughts? Anyone with egg intolerance try this?

my ELISA results said I was sensitive to egg whites so whenever I eat eggs I just eat the yolk. I dont mind it, i like it and have always been fine after eating it.

Probably. We've discussed this several times in the past, but I'm not aware of anyone else who has tried it:

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
