Hi Oma,

I was always puffed up like a toad frog when I was reacting. My problem was that I couldn't get rid of the gas, until the reaction cycle came to an end. It was so bad sometimes that I was afraid that I would bust a gut, for sure. When I had my colonoscopy, the GI doc pointed out that my colon was way oversize, (he described it as voluminous), and when I had my surgery, years later, the surgeon pointed out that my intestines were at least 30% longer than normal. So, IMO, it's much better to get rid of that gas, if you can, because it can really stretch your intestines, if it stays trapped for a long time.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

I ended up staying in the bathroom alot and just plain passing gas everyone here gets the Mc thing, so it's ok. I had no Idea about the stretching of the intestines tho~That's interesting. I feel better today and for now have the D in control. I have started meditating again and it relaxes me some. As always you are a vast amt of Knowledge~

My gas problems were probably a lot worse than average, because I also had a stenosis, (narrowing), in my sigmoid colon, which probably made getting rid of gas, (and anything else, except D), more difficult.

Love,

This information makes sense to me although I'd never really thought about it. Sometimes my stomach is so distended I look like a starving Biafran child with my skinny arms, legs and distended stomach. I see now that it is importance to expunge the gas. I don't want to stretch my intestines and colon so I will be even more dedicated to not eating gas producing food items. This weekend, I ate only tried and true foods and today I feel great. How I did it though was to isolate and stay home all weekend. I am getting obsessive (necessarily) about diet so I stayed home and cooked enough meals to last me two weeks. As time goes by I get better and better at this but still it's hard to be consistently good. It's taken me so long to get to this point and I pray I don't keep backsliding. I really enjoyed eating a whole pint of "So's" coconut Chocolate ice cream. Happy Valentines to me and to everyone. :bloated:
