MRT again
I am having so much trouble finding foods to eat given the extreme restrictions placed between the MRT and enterolab. I would give anything to be able to eat chicken soup and rice when I don't feel good. It's light and should be eminently digestible, but not for me.
Both tests take rice out of the equation (yellow on MRT).
There is nothing I can eat that is light and digestible.
And I have to wait with potatoes. I am having real trouble finding a starch without oats or potatoes, which only come in later in the program. I introduced Quinoa (which I love) on day one, but I introduced a few new foods, and something upset me badly.
So yesterday I ate potatoes and some coconut ice cream just to get some food other than meat.
Today I don't know what to do. I haven't taken a pain pill for 2 weeks. I am trying so hard to stop them, but today my back and leg are SO painful I can't do very much.
Sorry I am moaning again, but I don't know what to do.

I hear you Lesley, I'm in the same boat. My boat seems to have a leak too ;)
I don't know what to eat either. Some of my safe foods are now giving me rumbles and D and I am trying to take out all food with high histamine. I also am having trouble with fruits. I have a few on my safe lists but when I eat them they are just too much fiber for me to take!
It's very difficult and frustrating. I agree, I would just be happy with some chicken and rice soup. Or a cadbury cream egg. :)

You may have to modify the way the program is done, to fit your own needs, if necessary. Remember, the program is supposed to be for your benefit.Lesley wrote:I am having real trouble finding a starch without oats or potatoes, which only come in later in the program.
Tex
It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
I already am, Tex. I have already reintroduced beef since I have been eating it for a while and seem to tolerate it. I ate potatoes yesterday and probably will again today because I need something that resembles comfort food to eat. Right now that is potatoes. I have to stop with the ice cream so I can see what is bothering me, but it's hard when there is nothing else.
Jen, I haven't even tried fresh fruits. My MRT list included pears, so I stewed some. I don't know what is causing me such grief right now, but I am cramping so badly.
Cadbury's cream egg!! I haven't eaten one for years. My son was craving one the other day, but couldn't have it because he is gluten free.
Can you not have chicken Jen? Or rice?

haha me too!
I bought some puffed millet for cereal but end up eating it dry bc I cant have any sort of milk bc no almond and no coconut for me. I tested very low for soy but, it gives me headaches so im not going to try it. You can prepare the millet just like the quinoa, it's pretty easy. Kinda tastes the same in my book too.

Lesley,
How are you doing with potatoes? Did you test yellow or green with them? I tested yellow (estimate 2.3). I haven't eaten them for two years and would love to have them again. I probably shouldn't though because I seem to have problems with foods that tested 1.5 or higher - not even near 2.0 yet.
I agree with Tex; manage the LEAP diet according to your knowledge. You know best what is bothering you and what you need to avoid. The MRT testing is a guideline, but is not set in stone. Hang in there!

You never know what you can do until you have to do it.
Potatoes are sort of mid green. Not low, but not high. About the same as coconut. I am eating both in moderation. Trying to decrease them while increasing the grain factor that I am supposed to be able to eat, like buckwheat and quinoa.
I don't have the numerical values. I need to get them and figure from there. The last 3 days have been horrible. I have hated everything I have eaten. Tomorrow I will make sure I like what I eat. Somehow.
I am going to figure it out.
