I want to be carded
Can anyone steer me to the post on the card one can get to show people that when you need to go you need to go NOW please?
I ordered one. It never came. I want to reorder before my trip so I can show it on the plane. 15 hours is a LONG flight.

Wow! Thanks for that info! Prior to being on Endocort, I traveled to Geneva Switzerland with my husband on a buisness trip. To hell with MC I wasn't going to miss that trip. I just didn't eat and I was still terrified that I would need the restroom sometime when the donot leave your seat sign was posted. I am signing up or that card!
I was also thinking that you could notify the airline that you have a special need on this flight. They will have notification and then there will be no confusion with the staff.
Great info
:)

They seat me on the bulkhead aisle because of my back Brandy. Flying is hard for me. Now it will be just that much harder. They told me I could get permission (as diabetics do) to take extra liquid. My coconut milk so I can have some tea or coffee.
I will have to make room for other food.
Last weekend my DD came for 2 days. We ate out a lot. I was super careful, asked about everything, but have been in a major flare this whole week.

Lesley,
Your trip is almost here........ you must be so excited! Did you find the card? Is the recent flare improving? Will you be able to cook your own food while in Israel? Nosy, ain't I?
Hugs,
Polly
P.S. Will you be taking some paleo muffins for the flight?

Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused.
Hey Polly,
I am hoping they get the card to me on time.
I am way more terrified than I am excited right now. The idea of 15 hours on a plane is scary.
Also, how to pack? I am going form summer, or at the most a warm fall, to freezing London, and then to Israel, which in the winter, can be anything from freezing cold to super hot.
I will be able to cook my own food, but the kitchens are totally contaminated. Both at my DD and my DS house. Same at the apartment where I will be in London.
My DDs in laws have a large plot of land with 2 houses on it that they rent out, and a trailer, where they live. They will be away when I come, and have offered me to stay there. I probably will. I can cook there too.
and no, the current flare is ongoing. D<->C and back again. Full of mucous.
Cramps. Farting like crazy. I am exhausted and have zero energy to do what I need to do to get ready.
What can I say? This is very stressful.
I hope, when I have sorted out the problems, I will be able to be excited. I so want to see the grand kids and meet the new one.
You can be as nosy as you like. I have no problem.

Lesley,
I can understand how stressful this must be for you since my daughter is living on St Lucia. I have yet to meet my son-in-law. The trip to St Lucia is not 15 hours and still the thought of it makes me anxious. Someday I'll probably try it but not quite yet. The tug of grand kids must be very strong. I do not yet have that pull. My only granddaughter (my son's daughter) lives 10 minutes away from me. I hope you can work out the details of your trip in a way that lessens your anxiety.

Thanks Deb! I didn't get a confirmation email from them, so I emailed them. We'll see.
Meantime today I feel SO bad there is no way I could travel. I can barely stand up. The heartburn is running rampant, D all day, horrible cramps, and totally exhusted.
I need to get into some sort of shape before I can do this. I think its back to mashed potatoes and been stock.

Oh Lesley,
I hope you are feeing better today.
I can understand your stress just thinking about the plane ride. But, if you want to feel a little better, I will tell you about a plane ride I took shortly after I was diagnosed - and knew nothing at that time about food triggers or Entocort. At least you will be on a plane WITH a bathroom! LOL!
I was going to a medical conference in Durango, CO. To get there I had to take a commuter plane from Denver. You can imagine my shock as I boarded the plane and found that it was a 13-seater, with NO bathroom. No flight attendant to sympathize with either.
It was a very tense time to say the least. I sat in the back center seat with my cheeks squeezed together and tried to think of anything else but the dreaded D. I chewed up and swallowed a dry Lomotil halfway thru the trip (no drink service aboard, of course). And would you believe, although the trip was supposed to take only 45 min. at the most, it ended up being more than 1 1/2 hours! For some reason there were unusual wind drafts over the mountains that day, so we spent extra time going up and then coming down the drafts. The pilot said he had never experienced winds like that before. Figures, huh? Half of the passengers got sick into their barf bags because it was so bumpy. But not me - I was too focused on D to worry about simple vomiting!
When people without MC think we are silly for stressing out about our disease, let THEM experience some of the situations that we have been in. To this day, I will not take any form of transportation that doesn't have a bathroom. For this reason I don't use our local metro (subway) and will not go on a school bus trip as a chaperone.
Hugs,
Polly

Lesley,
Could you buy your own pan and spatula to use while you are visiting relatives? Would that be totally insulting to them? Maybe if you presented it as, "Oh, this horrible disease! I have to be so careful with what I eat, and I didn't want to burden you with worrying about feeding me, so I brought my own pans, and I can just cook separately." That way it might seem like you are being thoughtful of them, not that you think their cooking will make you sick.
My family members are very understanding of my restrictions, so I don't have a good feel for how to approach people who might think it's a fad, or that it's not really important.
Love,
Martha

Polly, just your description makes me feel sick! It happened to me once and I barfed my guts up. I was with my mom, who enjoyed turbulence, the rougher the better. I didn't get those genes, but my DD did.
Martha - my family will have no problem with me getting my own cooking stuff. The problem is I will have to duplicate it since I will be moving between at least 2 kitchens, maybe 3.
I shall overcome!
Did you see my trip has been postponed?
