At least mass-produced meat and chicken. I only buy local, grass-fed ground beef now from a local market or farmer's market, and nearly all the chicken I buy is organic. I do buy standard steaks and lamb occasionally, just because the organic versions are soo expensive...but at least they are in one piece, not ground up mystery meat (although I do know about the glue they use to keep some steaks together

). The meat industry is truly frightening. Incidentally, I once placed a doctor as a fellow at the USDA/Food Safety and Inspection Service. He became a vegetarian very quickly, but wasn't at liberty to tell me all the gory details. Ugh.
