My GI wants me to start on Creon for moderate insufficiency of 175. What does the forum think of this?
Thanks to anyone who responds. I hesitate putting more meds in my system. Do they help or cause more problems?

Pancreatic insufficiency
Janie
Hi Janie,
I think that many of us (possibly all of us) have pancreatic insufficiency after we've been reacting for a while. The pancreas becomes inflamed just like the rest of the digestive system when MC is active. The insufficiency should mostly resolve as the digestive system heals (which can take from 3–5 years). I'm sure this has never been investigated by any medical researchers however, so this is strictly my opinion based on member experiences.
Pancreatic insufficiency is not commonly reported because our GI docs never check most of us for pancreatic sufficiency. But it's reported often enough to suggest that whenever it is tested, it's discovered. As long as it's seldom checked, it's seldom found. Again, remember that this is strictly my opinion.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Pancreatic enzymes
CREON is great! I say yes to enzyme replacements. I was going bald, extreme fatigue, not getting nourishment and CREON took care of my troubles. My hair has thickened, I have more energy, getting nourishment and I look better. GO WITH CREON or an Enzyme Replacement. You'll be glad you did. Dorothy
