Anyone tried the Enterolab recovery protocol?

I got my Enterolab results and consulted with Dr Fine. I purchased some products from him and wondered if anyone else had tried them. First, my results:
3: oat, tuna, almond. I must avoid these indefinitely. Most reactive.
2: in descending order of reactivity:
Corn
Rice
Chicken
——
Pork
Beef
Walnut
Cashew
I must avoid the top 3.
1: white potato
Highly reactive to wheat gluten and carry two genes. Potentially undiagnosed celiac disease.
Highly reactive to egg, but this could be due to the combination of having an overly freaked out immune system and yearly flu shots, as they have ingredients that enhance immune response.
Highly reactive to casein (cows milk).
Low to medium reaction to soy.
I must avoid dairy and wheat.
In addition, his advice was to go completely grain free.
I have a low but higher than normal malabsorption of fat which means other nutrients could be mal absorbed as well. He recommended digestive enzymes.
He advised lots of fruit & vegetables, which I’ve had trouble with all my life, but I will make more of an effort to eat the ones I can seem to manage.
I had started an antidepressant again after 3 years or so off, which could well be causing some amount of my diarrhea. If it doesn’t go away with these other changes, will take a break and/or switch meds.
He said my immune system thinks my gut microbiome is a foreign invader and I should use his product to flush my system much like a colonoscopy prep then use his blueberry fiber, digestive enzymes, probiotic supplements & probiotic lozenges after I brush my teeth to kickstart my recovery in addition to the diet changes above.
Anyone used/tried these? Mine should arrive next week.
Thanks

Yeah, I tried the Enterolab recovery stuff a while back. The blueberry fiber and the enzymes actually helped me feel a bit more “normal” digestion-wise after a couple of weeks. I was super skeptical at first, but it didn’t mess me up, which was a win in itself lol.

I haven’t tried Enterolab’s exact protocol, but I did go grain‑free for a bit and added digestive enzymes to my routine. It really helped settle my gut-especially pairing enzymes with lots of cooked veggies like carrots and zucchini. I also loved the idea of probiotic lozenges after brushing;

Thanks - I got my supplements Saturday but haven’t started the two probiotics, the lozenges or the digestive enzymes yet because they recommended a cleanse first and I need to plan ahead for that (it’s like a colonoscopy prep). Idea is to clear the bad flora so you can replace it with good via a new diet. I’m doing so good being grain free for over a week I might not do the cleanse, in which case I’ll just start the supplements. Plan to decide by this weekend when I would have opportunity for the cleanse.

I guess it’s been 2 weeks tomorrow since talking with Dr Fine. Pretty sure I removed everything from my diet he advised right after that…

I’m a new user, and certainly appreciate reading about the experiences of others. I have received my EnteroLab results and have lots of questions. But I’ll start with one which occurred to me while reading this post. How do you know if you have “fat malabsorption”?

Hi,
Welcome to the group. EnteroLab offers a fecal fat test which gives a quantitative result. But regardless of whether that test is positive or not, most of us have some degree of fat malabsorption when we're reacting. When it's really bad, you can see an oily film on the water in the toilet after a bowel movement, which presumably is a symptom of inadequate lipase due to inflammation of the pancreas. MC can cause inflammation of any organ in the digestive system, including the small intestine, and that compromises virtually all digestive enzyme production resulting in the poor digestion that leads to the other symptoms (diarrhea, gas, bloating, cramps, etc.). Those symptoms all resolve after we stop the inflammation by making the proper diet changes, Which puts the disease into remission.

I’ve seem the oily film so much…… after dx of MC in 2022 my daughter found an article about BAM…. It sounded exactly like what I was experiencing along with yellow floating puffy stools….. I was taking the budesonide. I mentioned the condition BAM to my GI and he said “oh sure, I can prescribe you a prescription for that”. (All seems so simple) The GI dx and the budesonide was helping.
Way better than 5 months of waiting for GI appointments to see what was wrong. At least I was more fortunate than Tex!!! I was diagnosed with MLC and as it sounded by the GI MLC is no big deal!!!! One patient he said only had a flare up after 10 years (as though that was normal). Had my brain been in gear I should have realized …. This GI who FINALLY was able to see me sooner than the one I had in the past…. He didn’t have a patient with a flare after 10 years!!!! He wasnt old enough to have been a GI for 10 years!
I was 63 and never heard of MC…. We are geared to trust a Dr and one who specializes in certain conditions!!! Well that was me!!!!
5 months of Bright yellow liquid, frenchs yellow mustard & texture, yellow mucous….. all too soon this came and with no warning…… no super man or woman muscles was stopping the mess from falling out…… 24/7. (But once diagnosed….no big deal). Pigs can fly too!!!!! I couldn’t fly fast enough to ever get to the toilet!
So Cholestyramine was added with the budesonide…… as my stool slowed and firmed….. the BAM didnt…. The Cholestyramine helped too. But I have no gallbladder since 2020!!!!!!
Ahhhhhhh ….. to have my gallbladder again!!!!!!
But it’s gone!!!!!!! Removed from IBS ….. no stones but malfunctioning’…… hmmmmm covid 2020….. the surgeon …. Ummm …..he needed a surgery…… a malfunctioning gallbladder….. he said it was necessary as the issues would only worsen. He got that right!!!!!! Worse and worse…… no gallbladder didnt help either!!!! Oh well…. It’s gone….. and BAM is my poop! Except it has improved with the dietary restrictions I am learning (like a knuckle head) that Tex continues to hammer into my skull too!!!!! The Cholestyramine helps me…. I use it and not a full packet each night. It certainly keeps my movements from being pale floating greasy algae or pale puffy floating greasy stools so airy I have to flush 2-3 times!!!! Sheesh!
I am determined to continue to learn from Tex and drive him bonkers as he helps me to understand what my thick skull is so hard to get through to understand!!!! But unlike GI specialists……I’m willing to learn…..I hope Tex remains willing to use his hammer on my head while I keep learning….. because I am improving!!!!!! Thank you Tex!
Sincerely Teresa

I am wondering the same as I await my lab results - did you use Dr. Fine's protocol, and how was the experience?
