Moving From Budesonide to LDN
Greetings - First episode of MC was Dec. 2025. Put on 3 months of Budesonide with weaning off in the last month. Got an option to start taking LDN from a holistic MD I also see, so after careful consideration of staying steadily on LDN vs possible on/off Budesonide, I have started weaning off the Budesonide and have started titrating up on the LDN to 4.5mg in 3 weeks. Would be interested to hear if anyone else has done this & their experience of (hopefully) success on the LDN. Tex said in a previous post that 80% of people going off Budesonide do not stay in remission. Any data on LDN effectiveness? Info: I have celiac, so I'm a multi-autoimmune person. Looking for hope - Thanks!
Re: Moving From Budesonide to LDN
You're sailing in uncharted waters. There is no solid evidence LDN treats microscopic colitis
No trials supporting its use
No guideline endorsement
At best, all the available information is unproven, anecdotal, and speculative. And this status is unlikely to change any time soon, because the vast majority of clinical trials are financed by drug companies, and drug companies are definitely not interested in financing low-cost treatments for any issue due to the high cost of getting a product developed and approved by the FDA, these days.
Sorry that I don't have better news, but there's simply no reliable information available, that I can find.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
