Guess thats what it was meant to say---

Any*hoo* it is wireless but my comp. is 98 and this new system wont recognize 98~~~~~
Sooooooooooo---it appears that a new comp. is rising on the horizon--
Which I really dont want to buy---

The stuff he bought did not do the trick---as the guy said it would work around the problem!!!

Test went fine-----asked me what I have been Xperiencing---I answered*I havent the foggiest as to what I was to be Xperiencing*!!

And the technician asked about blood work---I told him the reading of my kidney function and he smiled and said same thing-----somebody forgot to insert the *dot*----

I don't know what kind of system you're installing, but most of them should work with 98SE, (the SE stands for Second Edition). If your computer's version of 98 is not the second edition, all you have to do is down load Service Pack 1 for Win 98, from the Microsoft Website. It's a free download, (at least it used to be--I haven't checked on it in several years).

Once you've installed the service pack, then you can add a USB2 adaptor card to a PCI slot which will convert your USB1 to USB2, (I'm guessing that you are using a wireless setup which connects to the computers by way of a USB2 port.

If you upgraded the operating system to XP, it would be a lot easier to set up. That's the biggest problem with 98SE, it's more trouble to set up a network, than XP.

Of course, by the time you buy the USB2 adaptar, and install it, and upgrade to XP, and fiddle with a few other things, you will have invested enough time and labor into the project, to where buying a new computer may look like a pretty good deal, 'cause it will be ready to go. LOL.
