This is why I am !!!

The ENT. took biopsies of the left side of the thyroid cus there were lottsa nodules there------the RIGHT side had ONE bigger lump--toward the back part of the thyroid, and the ENT. didnt think he could get a good *draw* from it----and he felt the bunch of smaller ones were more to be concerned about---
ENT sends me for a *sonagram*---naturally before the biopsies--

TODAY, the ENDO. feels the bigger lump and is MORE CONCERNED about that cus of its size AND she asked me IF ENT. did the biopsies--while doing the sonagram??? HUH---I had the *gram* done in MRI???? and ENT did biopsies in OFFICE!!!!! He would have to have mighty LONG fingers!!!

Well he should have and he could have!!! Thus saving me all this friggen wasted time----

So June 22 I go back to ENDO. and she will DO SONAGRAM and take biopsie of the bigger lump watching with the assistance of seeing it with the sonagram!!!! And right in the OFFICE!!!!

Maybe ENT wasnt kidding when he said---I just got my diploma yesterday(cus he looks like a teeny-bopper----)

And ENDO. says---depending what type thyroid---maybe I WONT need any meds!!!

Well, I certainly can't blame you for being upset. Maybe the ENT teeny bopper did get his diploma yesterday. I have to agree that the bigger lump would certainly seem to be the one to look at--that's not exactly rocket science. I can't believe that he would do the sonogram and the biopsies separately, either. That seems like a no-brainer.

I know it sucks to have to do it over, but at least it sounds like it will be done right, the next time, and maybe you won't have to take any meds, after all.

The teeny bopper is learnin' huh? I'm sure it will work out ok, but can make you crazy when you could have told the Doc exactly what's wrong, they syaq no and you end up being right. It'll be ok Barb. But I can see where you would be upset. Love Oma

It is inconvenient to have to go back for things, but I don't think it's unusual to do biopsies in the office. That's the way mine were done, and because of the fluid that mine put out, I had to have a repeat one done in the office, since I had a condition that caused cells not to be picked up in the aspirant very well. There was yet another problem with the second biopsy, but the concerning thing was that mine kept filling up with bloody looking fluid and fast which was one of several more suspicious findings that, taken altogether, resulted in my thyroidectomy.

Even with all these questionable findings, I was told that the chances of there being a malignancy were still pretty low.

It sounds as though you don't expect any surgery, but keep us posted, ok.
